Adult Confirmation Program
The sealing of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation is the final Sacrament of Initiation into the Catholic Church. If, for some reason, you have not received this powerful sacrament, we encourage you to do so! Once each year Adult Confirmation preparation is offered for Catholics at least 18 years of age, graduated from high school, already been baptized, received first Eucharist and are actively practicing their faith.
Candidates for Adult Confirmation will receive the Sacrament here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
August 15, 22, 29, September 5, 12, 19, 26, October 3, 17, 24, November 1 (6 PM Mass), 7, 14, 21, 28, December 5, 12, 19, January 9, 16, 2018
The Adult Confirmation Program at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will begin on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 following the 6 PM Mass. The candidates will meet on 20 separate Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 PM in the St Clare Conference Room. All must also attend at least one workshop, either on November 11th or December 9th, from 9 AM to 3 PM. It concludes with celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation at a Mass with our Bishop Ochoa on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3 PM.
Adult Confirmation candidates are required to have sponsors. A sponsor must have received all the Sacraments of Initiation, be at least 18 years of age, be actively practicing the faith and have no marriage impediments. If a candidate does not have a sponsor, there are St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parishioners who would be honored to sponsor candidates. This can be arranged at the time of the interview. Sponsors are encouraged to attend all sessions when possible. There will be a required workshop for sponsors on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9 AM to noon.
Prior to starting class, the candidate will need to be interviewed before August 11th by Deacon Mike Richard or Monsignor. The candidate must bring with them their BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE which has been issued within the last six months and noted on the back the date of their First Communion. Call Sam Duran for more information, 661-477-3988.
