The Bible is the lifeblood of our faith. It is the divinely revealed story of God’s interaction with the human family.
In the Old Testament, we hear about God’s plan to gather a nation together. God establishes his covenant with Israel and, through it, prepares the human family for the great gift of salvation in Christ Jesus.
In the New Testament, we hear how God’s plan and promise to Israel is fulfilled in the person of his Son, Jesus. Early Christians proclaimed their faith in writing about their experiences with Jesus. They share with us information about his earthly life, his teachings, his miracles and, most importantly, his suffering, death and resurrection. The New Testament also highlights the work of the early Christian Church from the time of Pentecost through the end of the 1st century.
As St. Jerome once wrote, “Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.”
Bible studies are offered in the morning and evening through the Fall and Spring. Watch the parish bulletin for information about these special opportunities to read and study the Scriptures.

Our study for the 2017-18 year begins Tuesday, September 19th. To change things up, we will be studying “The Bible and the Virgin Mary,” a 12 week study which is part of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology’s Journey through Scripture series. This study is based on Dr. Scott Hahn’s text “Hail, Holy Queen.” Participants will need to purchase that text as well as the participant workbook from the St. Paul Center website prior to our start. This 12 week study will run through December 12th. Following a break for the holidays, the Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study will return on January 9th, 2018, with an 11 week study on “The Mass and The Eucharist” which is part of God’s Word Today Catholic Bible Study Program from Twenty-Third Publications. Participants must be able to receive PDF files via email and will need their Bible and a notebook. This second study of the year will conclude with a Mass celebrated by Msgr. Perry for us on March 20th, 2018. For more information, see contact below.
